On Saturday, November 12th, news station 6abc aired an interview with PLUSgives co-founders for a segment on FYIPhilly. (Watch the video starting at Min 2:00 for our section!)
The segment, shot at Honeygrow Headquarters, focused on fitness and PLUSgives' dedication to uniting health and wellness + giving back to the local community.
Each eco-friendly, high-quality PLUSgives yoga mat features the artwork of a local artist and supports their work by earning them 10% on each mat sold. Additionally, for each mat sold, $5 is given to EACH of PLUSgives' charity partners: Back on My Feet, Women Against Abuse and MANNA.
As co-Founder Perry O'Hearn told FYIPhilly host Erin O'Hearn, "It's about realigning yourself but in a way that connects you with the world as a whole."
Co-Founder Annika Tubito added how honored we are to be partnering with causes fighting homelessness, domestic abuse and malnourishment, "Each of these charities, they really are trying to make a difference.... It truly does change a life."
PLUSgives has teamed up with local Philadelphia artist Alloyius McIlwaine to create its first series of yoga mats focusing on the seven chakras. Currently, mats are $100 dollars—$25 of that going right to the artist and charities.

For Noelle Gesualdo, local Philly yoga instructor, registered nurse, and advocate for mental health awareness and preventative holistic health practices, yoga is more than a physical outlet. When she lost her father to suicide, "my yoga mat was the only place I could go where I felt I could escape all of the terrible thoughts in my mind."
Noelle shares with us how practicing yoga brought solace to her life and how anyone who's considering getting into the practice—or anyone who's been practicing for years—can benefit from the healing properties of yoga.
Caitlin Kelly, local Philly yoga instructor and PE teacher, believes that yoga can answer a different need for everyone—from physical to emotional to spiritual.
We asked Caitlin to share with us some insight into her fitness life and tips for anyone who might be intimidated to venture forth into the world of yoga.
